Sustainable development has a firm place in our values. In a circular economy, new products are not constantly produced, but existing ones are re-used as efficiently as possible.

During 2022-2025 we acted as a subcontractor for VG-EcoFuel, a company that specializes in the processing of biofuels. Port Master collected used cooking oils from restaurants, bakeries, and cafes around Finland. Cooking oils are being further processed into biofuel for cargo ships. The service has been free for our customers who save on waste management costs and, above all, participate in crucial climate actions. Read more at www.vgecofuel.fi.

In 2023, we started collecting also used coffee grounds from our existing customers. Coffee grounds are a good raw material for the needs of home gardening, and our partner Berner Oy further processed them into nutrients and growing pads and the use of peat was reduced up to 30 % .

Within two years, we grew to become Finland's largest coffee pod collector.
